It's our first Golf Tip Tuesday!! Brought to you by our very own CPGA Golf Professional, David Robinson: help in battling one of Southern Alberta's most frustrating factors in your golf game: the wind.
"Wind...wind...wind. Wind is great for flying kites, but not so great when you're trying to golf. Unless you consider the following, for making play in the wind easier. The key to playing in the wind is trajectory control. When playing into a headwind, it is critical to keep the ball low with a penetrating flight. To do this, play the ball back in you stance, finish low and take at least one extra club than you would normally hit from that distance. The biggest mistake golfers make in the wind is over-swinging; instead take an extra club, swing lighter and keep the ball low. Voila! Wind isn't that scary, is it?!"
